WHOIS / RDAP Lookup

Registrar, creation date, expiry, nameservers, and status via RDAP.

Uses the RDAP protocol (RFC 9082) via rdap.org.

What this tool returns

Queries the RDAP protocol (RFC 9082) to return domain registration data: registrar, registration date, expiration date, last updated, name servers, and domain status codes. RDAP is the modern replacement for raw WHOIS and returns structured, accurate data.

For TLDs with CORS-compatible RDAP endpoints (.com via Verisign, .org, .io, .dev, .app, .co, .gov), the tool returns full registration data directly. For others, it falls back to DNS name server data and links to external WHOIS services.

When registration data matters

Domain registration details are a standard recon step in any external assessment. Expiration dates identify domains at risk of lapsing and being re-registered by someone else. Status codes like clientHold or serverTransferProhibited indicate unusual registry states.

Registration dates help contextualize other findings — a domain registered last week with no history is a different risk profile than one registered in 2003. Name servers reveal hosting infrastructure and CDN relationships.
